Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary faculty instructor and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade native playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.
The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
