Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of kids in our community.

Brian Houchins , a devoted elementary faculty teacher and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to improve local playgrounds, ensuring secure and inclusive play spaces for all kids.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
