Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school teacher and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to improve native playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play areas for all children.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
